A mobile tourism application, Visitİzmir, covering 30 districts, 11 categories and 2300 locations in the western province of İzmir, is now available to the public.
The mayor of İzmir and chairman of the İzmir Foundation, Tunç Soyer, said that the objective of the application, realized with the objective “Another tourism is possible”, is to raise the levels of prosperity globally. city and urban areas of the city.
With the Visitİzmir mobile tourism app, which can be downloaded to mobile phones, people wishing to move around Izmir will be able to access information about over 2,300 places in the city, when and where they want.
“This innovative project is an example of our ‘another tourism is possible’ approach and is the result of the common vision of all organizations in the city. We took an important step during the pandemic, when tourism goes digital all over the world and small-scale tourism becomes mainstream. Izmir is the first city to complete its digital tourism infrastructure. Thanks to Visitİzmir, tourists will be able to visit various places in the 30 districts of Izmir, throughout the year. As this makes hundreds of lesser-known attractions throughout the city more easily accessible, the tourism industry and the economy of our smallholders and artisans will thrive, ”Soyer said in a written statement.
Visitİzmir, which is essentially a city guide, is operational both as a mobile app and through its website. All Visitİzmir content can be accessed through the visitizmir.org website. The app, which can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store, is available in two language versions, Turkish and English.
Via the Visitİzmir app, users will have the opportunity to comment on Izmir’s tourist attractions and share their views with other users. In addition, users can like their own tourist sites, add them to their favorites, and also recommend new sites.
