Stephen King movie set to take place at Lockwood Mansion in Norwalk

A creepy new Netflix movie based on one of Stephen King’s short stories titled Mr. Harrigan’s phone will begin filming at Lockwood Mathews Mansion in Norwalk at the end of the month.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the film stars Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell of THIS and Knives Out. Phon by Mr. HarriganThis is a short story from a collection of stories entitled “Si ça bleigne”. Sutherland will play the role of Mr. Harrigan, with Martell playing the role of the young boy, Craig.

The new Netflix movie follows a young boy who befriends a billionaire (Mr. Harrigan) in a neighborhood of a small town. They form a bond on the older man’s first iPhone. When the billionaire dies, the boy is heartbroken until he learns he can communicate with his new friend from the grave by leaving voicemail messages on his friend’s cell phone. According to Horrorfuel.com, the film is being developed by “American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy.

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion is a National Historic Landmark located in Norwalk and is one of the first and largest Second Empire-style country houses in the United States. It has 62 rooms and measures 44,000 square feet.

Filming for the new movie begins around October 26, according to the CT Post, and will continue until Thanksgiving. They plan to film for at least five weeks.
